Amazing Picture of a Star
I’ve mentioned before that looking at the stars is one of my favorite ways to think about God; how great He is; how big He is; and if He can take care of the whole universe, then He can take care of me.
Well, I came across this photo. It is a Hubble Space Telescope image of the star V838 Monocerotis. NASA says “V838 Monocerotis is located about 20,000 light-years away from Earth in the direction of the constellation Monoceros, placing the star at the outer edge of our Milky Way galaxy.”
You can click on the picture on the right. But the image is HUGE and will take a while to load on your computer. You will probably have to use your computer’s scroll bars to see this cool picture of the star.
Whenever I see things like this I think of the Bible verse:
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.Psalm 19:1-3 (NIV)
Just wanted to share this with you.
