Tissue Box Guitar
Here are fun plans to make you own guitar. A tissue box guitar.
It is easy to make and fun to play.
You can make it quickly with things you already have around the house.
It will be free if you already have things like a tissue box, rubber bands, a paper towel roll, tape and stickers.
It is not going to be like a professional real guitar but making it is the fun thing and playing it is a bonus.
Also, if you and your friends make them you can form a tissue box guitar band.
This comes from Wissensteinburg from the Instructables web site.
Here is what it sounds like:

Tools & Supplies
The stuff you need…
Empty tissue box (the long kind not the cube)
Empty Paper Towel Roll
3 Rubber bands
Tape
Something to cut with
Marker

Cut Off the Cellophane
Cut around the edge of the opening to remove the plastic that the tissues come through. This will make it easier to strum.
Note - Have an adult do the cutting.

Cut Hole for the Neck
Make a hole in the box for the neck of the guitar (the paper towel roll). Turn to the box to one of the small sides of the box. Put your paper towel roll on top. Use your marker to trace around the roll, and then cut out the circle.

Insert the Neck
Insert paper towel roll for the neck about 2 inches into the hole. Tape around paper towel roll to prevent sliding.

Add the Strings
Add the strings. Place one rubber band around the box on each side of the neck. Also put one straight in the middle by: a) cutting halfway through the neck at the base b) sliding a rubber band into the slit c) tape over the cut.
Note - Have adult do the cutting.

Adding Bridges
Bridges raise the strings of a guitar off the base, allowing the strings to vibrate freely in the air, producing better notes.
What you need:
2 index cards
tape
1. Fold up the index cards so that they are about 1/2 inch wide.
2. Place under strings at the very top, and bottom, of the base of the guitar. Then tape to the box on the sides. Make sure the tape does not interfere with the movement of the strings.

Decorate
Decorate your tissue box guitar with stickers, crayons, paint, or whatever you have. Guitar is finished and ready to play.
