Pirate Logic Puzzle Game
Read the following story. There are three choices at the end. Choose the best solution.
Three pirates named Captain Ahab, Blackbeard and Calico Jack find a chest with 100 gold coins. They must decide how to distribute them.
The Pirates have a strict order of seniority: Captain Ahab is more important than Blackbeard, and Blackbeard is ahead of Calico Jack.
The Pirate world’s rules of dividing treasure are thus: that the most senior pirate proposes a way to divide the treasure. The pirates then vote on whether to accept his idea; the pirate who makes the suggestion is able to vote, and in the event of a tie he also gets to say who wins.
If the idea is approved by vote, it happens. If not, the pirate is thrown overboard and dies, and the next most senior pirate makes a new proposal to begin the system again.
Pirates base their decisions on three things.
- Each pirate wants to survive (of course).
- Each pirate wants to get the most treasure they can get.
- Each pirate would prefer to throw another overboard, if all other results would otherwise be equal.
So, Captain Ahab gets to suggest his idea first; then Blackbeard; and Calico Jack will be last of all.
