Professor QBProfessor QB’s Funny Five

There was a clown who found himself sitting next to a lawyer on an airplane. The lawyer just kept bugging the clown wanting him to play a game of intelligence. Finally, the lawyer offered the clown 10 to 1 odds, and said every time the clown could not answer one of his questions, the clown owed him $5, but every time the lawyer could not answer the clown’s question, he’d give the clown $50.00. The lawyer figured he could not lose, and the clown reluctantly accepted.

The lawyer first asked, “What is the distance between the Earth and the nearest star?”

Without saying a word the clown handed him $5. Then the clown asked, “What goes up a hill with 3 legs and comes back down the hill with 4 legs?”

Well, the lawyer looked puzzled. He took several hours, looking up everything he could on his laptop and even placing numerous air-to-ground phone calls trying to find the answer. Finally, angry and frustrated, he gave up and paid the clown $50.00

The clown put the $50 into his pocket without comment, but the lawyer insisted, “What is the answer to your question?”

Boring Bible Reading

Boring Bible Reading

If you try to read the Bible every day do you ever find it boring? When you do find it boring do you feel guilty, after all it is God’s Word?

If you do, you are not alone. Many people find parts of the Bible boring.

Parts of Numbers and Deuteronomy are boring even to Bible scholars at times. Instead of feeling guilty you can be proud that you are trying to read the Bible every day. But, it is God’s Word and it is all important.

Here are some tips to help you.

1. Vary your reading. If you find a part that is hard to understand or is boring to you try to also a part that you like (maybe a Psalm, the Gospel of Mark or something like that).

2. Consider using a “daily Bible reading” type Bible that has sections from the Old Testament and New Testament or is in chronological order.

3. Get a student Bible or study Bible that will explain some of the parts that are hard to understand so that they might not be so boring when you understand them.

4. Pray. Tell God honestly how you feel and ask Him to give you strength to continue and insight to understand His Word.

The main thing is to keep at it and don’t give up. If you are reading the Bible you are doing something great.

Cute SnakeI was reading this about the serpant in the Garden of Eden. It got me to thinking about snakes and I was wondering what the most venomous snakes in the world are.

Now, let me say quickly for snake lovers (or snake haters) that this list of top ten venomous snakes is only a list of the most venomous land snakes. There are several sea snakes that are even more venomous sea snakes but this list will only be the top ten most venomous land snakes.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made.

Genesis 3:1-First part of verse only (NIV)

Here is the list of the top ten most venomous land snakes . . .

Archaeologists find evidence supporting the Bible

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Archaeologist SketchArchaeologists find evidence about Bible events all the time.

God’s truth can stand up to our reasoned searching and go beyond just knowing correct facts. Now, knowing correct facts is the foundation for a relationship with God.

But it is not enough; even the demons believe the facts about God and are terrified.

What is important is how we respond to the reason and faith God places in each of us to call us to Him.

Snow Line Game

To help get into the Christmas spirit you can help Santa Claus ride his way to presents. Draw a line and Santa will follow it down. Try to make sure that he gathers all the gifts.

There is a fun soundtrack with this game so make sure that your computer’s speakers are on so you can hear it well.

You will enjoy this game. It is funny, fun and addicting.

The text of the proclaimation is on the next page and there is also a copy you can download to print so that you can have it at the Thanksgiving table.

If you are traveling we pray that you will be safe. However you celebrate the holiday our prayer is that you have a great time.

Fun with Your Family Over Thanksgiving

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Thanksgiving is here and that can put families in a financial bind with travel, parties, attending and taking gifts and food, or hosting parties and having to come up with all the food.

Here are some ideas that will allow your family to have a lot of fun without breaking the bank.

1. Visit Free Museums and Attractions
Make a list of all of the free museums and attractions in your area. Then work your way through the list until you’ve hit them all. Art museums, history museums, monuments–there’s sure to be something worth checking out at each one. Bring your family along and scout out the unique in each location.

Need help finding free admission museums in your area? Just check with your local chamber of commerce for ideas or do a Web search for “free museums” and the name of your town. You’re sure to turn up more than a few surprises.
