This guy started with just an idea of drawing a guy with eyebrows raised and a mouth in a little circle.

After I got the head I thought he needed some interesting background that would make him look sad. I thought it told a story without words. I don’t know why his tee shirt says STA or even what that means.

I have asked several people what is going on in this picture and then sat back and listened as they told me stories that had a lot of detail.

So, what do you think is going on here? Why does he look sad? What is the store behind him? What was on sale? Why is the store closed?
