Swiss Family Robinson - G-Rated Movie Review

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Swiss Family Robison G-rated MovieThe “Swiss Family Robinson” is a great G-Rated movie. Listen to Professor QB and Fun Guy review the movie. Rent it and watch it.

Also, as a special treat for ChurchFun.com people we have a FREE downloadable copy of the classic book.

It is a PDF and you can read it on your computer or print it.

Keep in mind that it is over 300 pages so that is a lot of printing. If you decide to print it you might want to pick up a ream of copy paper that has holes for a 3-ring binder already punched in it. You can find those at office supply stores. That way you can put the pages in a binder and have a cool book to read.

Also, most libraries have copies and you can usually buy a copy at a bookstore fairly inexpensively.

Take the Pain Out of Homework

Pencil

Write down your assignments accurately and promptly when they are given. You can’t plan your homework time effectively if you don’t know exactly what needs to get done. Record the following information:

  • The subject or course in which the work is assigned (for example, Spanish, math, spelling)

  • Know what you’re expected to hand in or do (for example, turn in a book report, take a spelling test, or finish math problems.)

  • The details of your assignments (for example, double spaced or single spaced, blue ink or black).

  • Page numbers (which pages you need to read, study, or refer to in order to complete your assignment.)

  • Due date of the assignment.

15 Ways to Pray for Missionaries

Praying for Missionaries

It is important to pray for missionaries. Find out if your congregation helps support missionaries. Learn their names and their children’s names. Then as a family plan to pray for them. Here are fifteen things you can pray about when you pray for missionaries.

1. Love for God
Pray that your missionaries’ will love God so much that they will always want to serve Him.

2. Love for Others
Pray that God will help your missionaries love each other and everyone else. (1 Thessalonians 3:12).

3. A Deeper Relationship with God
Pray that your missionaries would follow Jesus’ example. It’s hard to imagine any missionary having a busier life that Jesus did; yet He always took time to pray to His Father.

4. Spirit-Controlled Lives
Pray that all of your missionaries will do what God wants them to do.

We’re Back

Hurricane Ike GraphicWe are back in our home now and have internet access (yeah!). We left Lake Jackson, Texas on September 11. The storm hit our area late night and early morning of September 12 and September 13.

We did not have electrical power until September 28 so we stayed with family in Tyler, Texas. We returned Septemeber 29 to a smelly refrigirator (two weeks with no power tends to do that) and a horrible mess in the yard.

But we are all safe and had no damage to our home. We just got internet access back yesterday so this if my first update to ChurchFun.com from our home.

Thank you for praying for our family. It means so much to know that all of our friends from ChurchFun.com were praying for us. I’m sorry I could not post more. I was posting things from the home of family and the public libarary but things are back now.

We love you all and pray God’s blessings on you.

Thank You

Thank You

“Thank You” They’re more than just words.

Are you thankful? Right now, before you read anymore of this article, I want you to make a list of five things or people for which you are thankful. Did you list your church, your parents, your friends? In our culture we have gotten away from what was at one time, a necessary duty. After your last birthday party, did you personally thank each person that attended and gave you a gift? I’m not talking about yelling as they got inside the minivan, “Thanks for coming!” I mean, did you sit down with a note card and write, “Dear Hayden, Thanks a lot for coming to my birthday party…” Why not? Perhaps you didn’t think about it. Today I want to talk to you about being thankful. It’s very important.
